Shri Nilkanthdham was born of one sankalp — to create a living tirtha on the Narmada where every pilgrim could walk through the whole of Bhagwan Swaminarayan's sampradaya in a single darshan. Pu. Sadguru Shri Dharmavallabhdasji Swami has given every stone of this campus its intention.

As the current Guruvarya of the Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan, Pu. Sadguru Shri Dharmavallabhdasji Swami carries both the dharma-jivan of Shastriji Maharaj and the vistar-sankalp of Shri Devkrushnadasji Swami. Under his direct guidance, Nilkanthdham's every detail — the five pradakshinas, the 108 gaumukhs, the 24 avatars, the Sahajanand Universe exhibition, Gaudham, the Sanskrit Gurukul, the Tirthalayam and the sadavrat — has been shaped.
